Vulfpeck – Dean Town Sequence 1

Vulpeck is an American Funk band that formed in 2011 while the core members were students at University of Michigan’s school of music. The band has gone on to release four fantastic albums, multiple EPs, and now tours the world spreading the gospel of FUNK.

This sequence is based on a lick from the song Dean Town. It starts the LONG, ridiculously creative, amazingly funky main melody, played first by head-bobbing bassist Joe Dart.

Strive to sound as clear and articulate as the plucked strings of Dart and guitarist Corey Wong, and make sure to listen to the original recording to refine your sound concept and feel. This song is built on a relentless, funky groove, so above all else… PROTECT THE GROOVE.

This sequence will help you improve your funk feel, rhythm, and command of articulations.

Happy Practicing!!
