Descending Slur Sequences

This sequence is inspired by Tim Smith, trombonist with the Buffalo Philharmonic. Tim very smartly realized that brass players spend most of their slur practice in one position or valve combination despite the fact that most slurs in music require us to change position or valves while slurring. This sequence will help you master the coordination of slurring while moving. Tim’s website is full of wonderful resources, blog posts, and recordings. Make sure you check him out.

Happy Practicing!!
