Siegfried’s Funeral Call Sequence

One of my favorite moments EVER in orchestral music comes from Siegfried’s Funeral March by Richard Wagner. I get chills during the trumpet call every time I listen to this piece. Literally every time. Wagner does such a wonderful job building the tension before the trumpets enter (2:08), so that when they finally do enter (2:38) the feeling is magical. Solti is pretty fun to watch too.
I listen to this music any time I want to get fired up to do something. Try listening without distractions before your next practice session to help you feel inspired before picking up your horn.
